Sucks to see the Gauchos go down like this
A punch like that is past a red card, absolutely no self-control.
"DISTURBING! Even more disturbing, the referee then proceeded to give a RED card to UCSB's Luis Silva (player in the blue jersey), who was attacked by Servando Carrasco of UC Berkeley in the white jersey, and Servando Carrasco received a YELLOW card. This incident was 20 minutes into the game, thus, UCSB played the remainder of the game 10 vs 11. UCSB went up 1-0 at 8min to go, then the referee called a phantom handball with less than 2min and PK to tie it, then UCSB lost 2-1 in OT. OUTRAGEOUS!"
"Cal player throws punch and stays in game?
How is that possible?
Where was the NCAA?
Is there no oversight of the basic rules of soccer?
Cal should yield their tainted win and let UCSB advance"
"In2010 "Kampmeinert has served as the center official in just a couple of NCAA women's games. He's worked only the sidelines in two Division 1 men's contests. ..the match violated this portion of the NCAA's 2010 handbook:"Policies and Selection of Officials. For the Division I men's soccer championship, an official is required to work a minimum of six regular-season Division I men's soccer games in order to be eligible to work any round(s) of the championship."
